Hard Work + Luck
March 2026
The year of the Horse got off to an ominous start when my 2 year old lucky bamboo died. All in all, February had a couple let downs– I had an overnight trip that was cancelled and nobody asked me to be their Valentine. However, luck did strike when it came to writing. I achieved my goal of literally writing anything and I published one new blog post on maintaining hygiene when depressed and wrote one other blog on my 2025 mental health accomplishments. I also wrote a couple of pages for my memoir. One of the pages even revealed to me a certain trajectory so I have a blueprint of how else I want to develop the chapter where I share about my faith. I bought the book Story Work by G.G. Renee Hill and I am going to read it this month and hopefully use the insight I gather from it to further develop my book.
I made so much progress on the adulting front this past month. I got my health insurance sorted, paid off my prescription bill, got through to the dentist and put my name on the new patient waitlist and cleaned my entire bedroom– thoroughly organized and everything. The highest adulting achievement was completing my 2025 Tax Return and I am delighted to be getting a nice refund. I just have to gather my digital documents and fill out my belated 2024 tax return. I am also hoping to finish booking my vacations and travel for the year.
I made a good bit of progress on setting up my Google workspace and fixing the signup sheet on my website. Transferring my domain was the first step, easily mastered. My attempts beyond that have been akin to a newborn learning to walk and I’ve been stumbling over Squarespace blocks and forms with growing frustration ever since.
I mailed out about 30 Valentine cards a good week in advance so that they arrived in time for the holiday and got my February birthday cards in the mail shortly after. I won’t be doing a big card campaign again until graduation time, but I am hoping to send out March birthday cards quickly so I can figure out an advertising campaign to sell the remainder of my 2025 birthday cards. (Don’t know how likely this is as I am only just now getting my newsletter together.)
I am working on a Patreon rebrand though I haven’t yet gotten it together. I think I’ll be changing the tiers so stay tuned for that in the coming months! Unfortunately it takes such a long time for me to actually get around to doing anything. Having a full time job is rather impossible. There’s talk that my union might go on strike and if it does I will be so very content to stay home and craft and write as much as possible. But I probably shouldn’t be hoping for the worst case possible, not to mention it would be difficult to go a couple weeks in a row without pay.
Here’s to working as hard as I possibly can and hoping that luck makes up the difference.

I'm so proud of you boo!
